Features: From the experience of international exchanges, the teaching process of the Central Academy of Fine Arts' School of Fine Arts, where first-year students focus on foundational studies, upper-level students enter studios, and finally undertake graduation projects, is quite reasonable. It is formulated according to scientific principles and has been tested through practice. In the entire teaching system, basic education is a step and a very critical link. If this link is too loose, it will lead to weak fundamental skills in students, greatly affecting their future studies; if it is too tight, it may easily trap students in rigid conformity, which is detrimental to their future creativity. Therefore, in the basic teaching of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, continuous exploration of reform and innovation has been conducted to avoid standardizing every student's individuality in a conveyor-belt-like manner. While helping students build a solid foundation in shaping, it also strengthens training in expressiveness and appreciation. We have always strived to find this balance point in basic education, engaging in extensive discussions and practices. In this series of books, this exploration process will be showcased, hoping to provide some inspiration for those seeking their path in the arts, as well as serving as a platform for discussion with professionals in the field of Chinese art education.
