Features: This textbook is written for undergraduate students majoring in Highway Tunnel Engineering under the discipline of Road, Bridge, and River Engineering, specifically for the "Tunnel Structure Design and Analysis" course. The book is divided into 9 chapters, with Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9 covering the basic teaching content, while Chapters 5, 7, and 8 are advanced topics. This textbook is designed for undergraduate students majoring in Highway Tunnel Engineering under the discipline of Road, Bridge, and River Engineering for the "Tunnel Structure Design and Analysis" course. After review by the 21st Century Transportation Edition Higher Education Textbook Editorial Committee, it has been decided to officially publish this book. It, along with the already published or upcoming books "Survey and Design of Highway Tunnels," "Tunnel Construction Technology," and "Highway Tunnel Operation Facilities," forms a professional course textbook system for undergraduate students in Highway Tunnel Engineering. Highway tunnels fall under the category of underground engineering, where structural loads and surrounding rock medium parameters are not as clear as in surface engineering. Therefore, current structural design methods for tunnels both domestically and internationally primarily rely on engineering analogy and empirical approaches. However, as students in Highway Tunnel Engineering, it is essential to master the fundamental theories, problem-solving methods, and computational techniques for tunnel structure calculations. With the help of computational analysis techniques, qualitative or semi-quantitative evaluations can be provided for the structural design of highway tunnels. Furthermore, by combining on-site construction measurement and control technology, quantitative analysis can be achieved.
