Publish Date: 2005-01-01
Features: This book is based on the 198th edition of "Chemical Engineering Principles" and was compiled according to the teaching syllabus issued by the National Chemical Vocational and Technical Education Teaching Guidance Committee in 1996, taking into account the characteristics of secondary vocational education. The book retains the concise and appropriately challenging content of the original textbook while further removing content and formula derivations beyond the syllabus requirements. New chapters on liquid-liquid extraction, crystallization, and membrane separation have been added. The names, symbols, and units of physical quantities in the book are all in line with the new national standard GB31~312—93. This book introduces the basic principles of important chemical engineering unit operations, typical equipment, and calculations. It is divided into two volumes. The first volume includes six chapters: Introduction, Fluid Mechanics, Liquid Transport Machinery, Gas Compression and Transportation Machinery, Relative Motion Between Fluids and Particles, Basic Principles of Heat Transfer and Heat Exchangers, and Evaporation. The second volume includes six chapters: Distillation, Absorption, Tower Equipment, Drying, Freezing, and Other Operations for Separating Heterogeneous Solutions (including extraction, crystallization, and membrane separation technology). Each chapter includes examples and exercises. An appendix is provided at the end of the book. This book can be used as a textbook for secondary vocational and technical schools in chemical engineering and related fields.
