Features: Antibiotics refer to drugs derived from microbial metabolites and their derivatives, which have inhibitory or lethal effects on other microorganisms at low concentrations. However, with the development of the pharmaceutical industry, a large number of non-microbial sources and chemically synthesized antimicrobial drugs have been widely used in clinical practice. Moreover, the scope of antibiotics is no longer limited to antibacterial drugs; broadly speaking, antibiotics include drugs that have inhibitory or lethal effects on organisms such as viruses, bacteria, mycoplasmas, chlamydiae, and protozoa. In light of this, this book focuses on antimicrobial drugs while also covering other categories of antibiotics to enable readers to gain a comprehensive understanding of antibiotics and their rational application. Another major feature of this book is its close integration with clinical practice, introducing the application of antibiotics in various clinical infections. This approach not only meets the practical needs of clinical physicians but also helps readers who do not engage in clinical work to understand the current state of antibiotic applications in clinical settings. Therefore, this book briefly introduces the basic information of antibiotics in combination with clinical practice, with a focus on systematic and thematic writing centered on the antibiotic treatment of various clinical infections. The book is divided into three parts: The first part covers the clinical applications of various antibiotics, emphasizing their pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, clinical applications, and adverse reactions. The second part focuses on the antibiotic treatment of infections in various systems, briefly introducing the clinical manifestations and diagnosis of systemic infections, highlighting the content of anti-infection therapy, and introducing recent developments in domestic and international research. The third part covers the antibiotic treatment of special clinical infections, including the application of antibiotics in special populations.
