Features: In ancient Greek mythology, there are nine goddesses of arts and sciences—the Muses. When naming the domains they oversee, they gave the common name "Muse" to the second goddess in charge of music, expressing the goddesses' special fondness for music. In the category of artistic genres, women possess an extraordinary talent in music and dance. Their aesthetic pursuits in art, particularly the "performative" quality, often surpass those of men. Their musical sense, musical memory, interpretive abilities, and unique beautiful tones have attracted many composers to write numerous women's choruses for them. Today in China, the development of women's choruses has flourished like bamboo shoots after rain, which is related to the improved status of women in social and artistic life, the significant increase in the ratio of female students in art, normal, university, and secondary schools, and their advantages in the "aesthetic" and "performative" aspects of music. The great pioneer Sun Yat-sen once remarked on women: "If women were missing from the world, there would be 50% less truth, 80% less goodness, and 100% less beauty." Women are the mediators of beauty, and beauty is the embodiment of women. Recently, I compiled two collections of women's choruses—now I am compiling a sequel to provide more choices for the female vocal stage. May the splendid flowers of women's choruses bloom in full splendor on our choral stage, allowing them to express their hearts through their beautiful voices, to adorn this beautiful life and to praise this magnificent era.
