Features: The story of the growth and love of three teenagers, "I," Kaoru, and Haruyoshi. At "I's" high school, the legendary Haruyoshi is a good friend of the couple, "I" and Kaoru. When he learns that "I" cannot date Kaoru because Kaoru's father is too strict with her, he convinces "I" to take Kaoru's "" as revenge against Kaoru's father. He also advises "I": If you truly love Kaoru, don't marry her. During the college entrance exams, Haruyoshi, who is better at studying than "I," fails to pass. "I" and Kaoru, however, attend two universities far apart from each other. Later, Kaoru develops a binge-eating disorder, and while Haruyoshi is swimming in the sea, he tragically drowns. After Haruyoshi's death, I realize that what he said was right: Kaoru's illness stems from two loves—the love of her father and the love of "I"—both of which desperately try to fit Kaoru into their own life models, overlooking her independence and individuality as Kaoru.
