Features: Since the implementation of reform and opening-up policies in China, the urban environment has undergone tremendous changes. The stereoscopic development of urban transportation, the networking of central cities and satellite cities, the re-planning and reconstruction of cities, and the materialization of urban spirit and the emphasis on the design of form carriers have made our living environment increasingly humanized and idealized. On the basis of comprehensive management of urban environments in many large and medium-sized cities, attention has been paid to shaping the humanized environments of various public spaces such as residential areas, streets, and transportation. Urban culture and urban spirit have begun to be designed on multi-dimensional form carriers, including urban signage. Urban signage design may seem like a less prominent segment in the field of design, but many design cases across different categories involve urban signage design. To enable these signs to more effectively reflect the atmosphere of modern cities and further enhance their guiding role in the ever-changing urban environment, some universities have introduced specialized courses in urban signage design. This is precisely the main purpose of writing this book.
