Features: The judicial examination is a professional qualification exam that primarily assesses the breadth and accuracy of legal knowledge. This characteristic determines that its exam content must mainly revolve around mandatory laws and regulations. The judicial examination changes every year, but the essence remains the same—the mandatory laws and regulations are the "core" of the exam. Many candidates have realized this point, but they have not mastered the correct study method centered on legal provisions. In many cases, after reviewing the legal provisions, they don’t know from which aspects to understand the meaning of the provisions, or where the key points of the provisions are, or the focus and angles of the questions. As a result, they lament that simply reviewing legal provisions is not very effective. Based on comprehensive research, analysis, and the practical experience of numerous successful candidates, this book provides candidates with a legal-provision-centered study method for the judicial examination, which is believed to offer practical and effective help. The greatest feature of this book is its four-in-one approach—legal provisions, question focus, past exam questions, and intensive mock questions—to comprehensively understand and master the key points, difficulties, and question-setting logic of the judicial examination, truly making it a "one-stop" guide.
1. About Legal Provisions: This book ensures the completeness of the main laws while emphasizing key provisions. It also incorporates relevant judicial interpretations based on the designated "Compendium of Mandatory Laws and Regulations for the Judicial Examination," interweaving them with related legal provisions under each knowledge point. For example, under the crime of theft, after Article 264 of the Criminal Code, it lists Article 265, Paragraph 1 of Article 210, Paragraph 2 of Article 253, and Paragraph 3 of Article 196 of the Criminal Code as provisions related to theft. It also includes judicial interpretations concerning theft and corresponding provisions from other judicial interpretations related to theft under the knowledge point of theft. This way, the legal provisions and judicial interpretations related to theft are very comprehensive and easy to grasp, which is highly beneficial for the exam.
2. About Question Focus: This book statistically analyzes the past exam points and their corresponding scores for each department and chapter of the law. It further analyzes the key points, focus, and angles of important provisions. It breaks down the key points involved in one or more provisions and identifies the focus of the provision. This approach allows candidates to grasp the content of the provision from multiple perspectives and understand the question-setting angles, truly improving their exam performance.
3. About Past Exam Questions: While analyzing the key points and question focus of each provision, this book also presents the relevant past exam questions and their answers. Based on the main key points of a question, it is categorized under the corresponding key point analysis, visually reflecting the importance of the knowledge point and its past exam trends. More importantly, it helps candidates understand the knowledge point through questions, grasp its key points, and master possible question-setting methods. In passing, let me mention the role of past exam questions. Just as authentic TOEFL exam questions are crucial for preparing for the TOEFL exam, past judicial exam questions are equally important for studying for the judicial exam. Studying past exam questions not only helps master the key points and trends of the judicial exam but also allows for a deeper understanding of the legal provisions. Additionally, the repetition of questions in the judicial exam is an objective reality—some questions are direct reproductions of previous ones, while others are merely slight modifications. This can be clearly seen through the summary of past exam questions in this book.
4. About Intensive Mock Questions: Referencing the requirements and characteristics of the judicial exam, this book compiles intensive mock questions for key points (especially those not yet tested) of the provisions. Through targeted and repeated practice, it aims to deepen the understanding and comprehensive mastery of the provisions.
5. About the Authors: All the authors of this book are Ph.D. holders in relevant legal fields and have all passed the judicial exam with high scores, possessing systematic success experience and judicial exam tutoring experience.
6. About the Writing Approach: The writing approach of this book was inspired by Mr. Liu Yi’s work on breaking through bottlenecks and strengthening memory of English vocabulary, which has proven highly effective in the National English Proficiency Test (CET) and TOEFL/IELTS exams. Successful experiences tell us that legal provisions for the judicial exam are like vocabulary for English exams—they share many similarities. We hope this book will help all candidates achieve their goals.
