Features: This article analyzes two different types of development—modern Western civilization and Chinese modernization—and points out that the capitalist large-scale industry pioneered by modern Western civilization has completely transformed the traditional agricultural civilization cultural model, establishing a cultural model of modern industrial civilization, thereby achieving a fundamental transformation in the way of human existence. With the advent of the era of globalization, the decline of the political ideological nature of nation-states and the emergence of global culture, a brand-new way of existence—globalized existence—is forming.
