This book is the first illustrated monograph on avian brain anatomy in China. The Atlas of Stereotaxic Coordinates of the Duck Brain adopts the midpoint of the line connecting the two auditory canals and the midpoint of the occipital protuberance as the coordinate origin, setting up two coordinate systems (A and B) to draw the coordinate outlines of brain slice lines. The book includes 46 sagittal sections and 104 transverse sections, accompanied by 302 low-magnification photomicrographs of Nissl-stained neurons and Weil-stained nerve fibers. The text describes the morphological and structural features of the brain in the order of the forebrain, diencephalon, midbrain, pons, medulla oblongata, and cerebellum, supported by 203 low- and high-magnification photographs. It also provides coordinate data for localization and an index of both Chinese and English full names and abbreviations of duck brain structures. This book offers visual reference materials for avian neuroscience experimental research and provides new content for neuroanatomy teaching in higher education institutions.
