Features: Wu Xingliang, Professor. Born on October 20, 1954, in Jiangkou, Guizhou. Graduated from the Biology Department of Guizhou Normal University in 1980 and remained at the university as a teaching assistant after graduation. From 1983 to 1994, he worked at the Guizhou Academy of Sciences. From 1994 to 1996, he worked at the Hainan Academy of Agricultural Sciences. From 1996 to 2003, he returned to the Guizhou Academy of Sciences. Currently, he is a professor at the School of Life Sciences and Agriculture, Hainan University, and a researcher at the Guizhou Academy of Sciences. In 1995, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Expert with Contributions in Hainan Province, and in 1999, he received a special subsidy from the Guizhou Provincial Government. The author has long been engaged in research on the resources survey and classification of macrofungi, with most of his work focused on fungi in Hainan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, while also conducting collection and research on macrofungi in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. In the past decade, his research focus has been on the Ganoderma family of fungi in China's tropical and subtropical regions. He has led two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, participated in two others; led 10 provincial and municipal projects; and led two special funds from the Governor of Guizhou Province. He has won one second prize and one third prize for provincial scientific and technological progress (as a contributor), and published three academic works and over 90 academic papers.
Dai Yucheng, Researcher, Ph.D., Doctoral Supervisor. Born on January 12, 1964, in Baodi, Tianjin. After obtaining a master's degree from Beijing Forestry University in 1988, he worked at the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences. In 1992, he went to Helsinki University in Finland for further studies, earning a Ph.D. in Science in 1996. From 1997 to 1998, he joined the Systematic Ecology Department of Helsinki University in Finland as a postdoctoral fellow. From 1999 to 2002, he served as a researcher at the Botanical Museum of Helsinki University in Finland. In 2002, he was selected as an outstanding talent introduced from abroad by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is now working at the Shenyang Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The author has long been engaged in research on the systematics, genetics, and molecular biology of higher fungi, and has also made in-depth explorations in conservation biology, forest pathology, medicinal fungi, and the biodegradation of lignin and cellulose by wood-rotting fungi. He has written 115 academic papers, including 74 in English, with 32 indexed in SCI journals, and published two Western-language monographs. He has discovered and described 38 new species of higher basidiomycetes, 164 species new to China, and over 30 new pathogens of forest diseases in China.
