There are also some of the author's reflective essays in this book, but they are not numerous. A few of his young classmates who studied in France hoped he would write about his experiences there. Some readers enjoy reading about overseas experiences, and this book includes published accounts of Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. The author had planned to write about Mongolia, Thailand, and the Netherlands but abandoned the project midway, as he was not satisfied with the results and could not continue.
