Features: We believe that the research in this book helps students understand the regional and social environments in which folk dances are generated and their foundational influence on dance, accurately grasping the deep cultural connotations of dance, reproducing and reflecting its authentic vitality and artistic charm, and playing a decisive role in preserving traditional dance culture. At the same time, the research of this topic also enriches the study of cultural geography. During the four-year research process of this project, the team members actively discussed, overcame harsh environments during fieldwork in Yushu, Qinghai, trekked across mountains and plateaus, sought knowledge and traditions, visited local communities, collected materials, and gained insights into the literary and artistic essence of Tibetan dance, experienced the living environment of the Tibetan people, attended horse racing festivals, and thereby developed a clear and intuitive understanding of Tibetan culture and its environmental characteristics, a fundamental understanding of Tibetan folk dance, and a profound appreciation of the environmental features that imbue these cultural connotations. All of this unified our understanding of the characteristics and styles of Tibetan folk dance with their environmental features, enhancing and deepening our comprehension of the essence of Tibetan dance, the roots of traditional dance, which no one can grant except through personal experience. It played an indispensable role in our research on Tibetan dance. Extensive fieldwork and learning have helped us and have validated our research. This project primarily focuses on the study of folk dance culture, involving Chinese classical dance, ballet, as well as cultural geography and other related dance arts and disciplines. Throughout the research process, everyone worked with sincerity, exchanged ideas, studied, improved their awareness and theoretical level, and contributed their wisdom to the completion of this book.
