Features: This Grand Dictionary was compiled by thousands of experts and scholars over four years, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the National Administration for Quality and Technology Supervision, and the National Bureau of Statistics, in collaboration with over 50 central and state government departments. Based on China's actual conditions and considering economic development, technological progress, and industrial structure, it follows the principle of work nature identity, draws on international standards, and scientifically classifies and categorizes China's social occupations for the first time. It comprehensively reflects the structure of China's social occupations, fills the gap in China's occupational classification field, and aligns with international occupational classification standards. The Grand Dictionary divides all social occupations in China into 8 major categories, 66 subcategories, 413 minor categories, and 1,838 fine categories (occupations), breaking away from the previous industry-based classification model and highlighting the social, purposeful, normative, stable, and collective characteristics of occupations. Each occupation in the Grand Dictionary is assigned a code, name, definition, description, and the constituent trades of the occupation, providing precise definitions and descriptions of the nature and scope of work activities, as well as the relationship between occupations and trades. As an authoritative reference tool, the Grand Dictionary can be widely used in economic information exchange, employment services, population statistics, vocational training, career guidance, vocational skill assessment, and the development of occupational qualification standards.
