Features: This book selects and evaluates 800 sentences with incorrect word usage from newspapers, periodicals, and books published domestically in recent years. The relevant word entries are arranged in the order of the Chinese Pinyin alphabet. If multiple word usage errors exist in a sentence, they are listed separately for evaluation, and cross-references are used to indicate related entries. The selected words mainly include nouns, verbs, adjectives, as well as some fixed phrases, with a small number of other types of words. For a word entry, similar errors in different examples are combined for evaluation, while different types of errors are evaluated separately. In principle, at most two examples of the same type of error for a word entry are selected for evaluation. This book primarily analyzes and evaluates incorrect word usage from perspectives such as word meaning, word class, the thematic context of word usage, the referent of the word, collocation, word connotation, and the weight of word meaning. This book does not discuss issues of non-standard word forms.
