The book presents the biblical stories that have been passed down for thousands of years, reinterpreted in concise and accessible modern language to better align with contemporary reading habits. The rich religious atmosphere of medieval illuminations, combined with modern layout styles, vividly showcases the essence of the biblical stories. Illuminations were the main decorative elements of prayerbooks, primarily depicting religious scenes. In the later medieval period, colored illustrations in illuminated manuscripts included numerous depictions of secular court and daily life scenes. The illuminations in this book are all excerpted from the finest medieval illustrations. The illustrated sections provide detailed explanations of the origins and content, as well as the style of the illuminations, allowing you to appreciate the splendid and mystical illustrations of Christian art at ease. This book is the most important volume in the Old Testament. Because the laws it presents form the core of the entire Old Testament, the rest of the Old Testament revolves around it. Moreover, these laws are still observed and play a significant role in Jewish society today. After the appearance of Jesus, they were reinterpreted, but they are still regarded as the eternal word of God and inherited by Christianity. In fact, it is through the powerful influence of Christianity that these laws became the foundation of modern Western law. Additionally, from this set of laws, Israel truly became an extraordinary nation with an independent faith, distinct from other peoples.
