Features: This article is divided into five parts, namely the development of Shanghai as a metropolis, regional economy, industrial economy, knowledge economy and high-tech development, and quantitative economics. These papers were published in different periods, hence having different backgrounds. From reading the papers, one can also sense Professor Gao's accurate grasp of economic hot issues. Taking the economic development of Shanghai as an example, from the positioning of the Shanghai city to the long-term development strategy of Shanghai, and the model selection of Shanghai's economic development, Professor Gao has many unique insights. From a retrospective review, many of these views have been validated, and it is believed that some views will also be validated in Shanghai's future development. The field of industrial economy is quite extensive, and the number of papers included in this collection is limited, but it is still sufficient to reflect the breadth of Professor Gao's areas of expertise. The development of high-tech industries is of great significance to China's long-term development, and the knowledge economy, as a broader context, needs to be analyzed in depth in the analysis of related issues. The final part of the collection includes several quantitative economic models created by Professor Gao, which have all been applied in the research of China's and Shanghai's macroeconomic issues and have received high praise. This collection includes 42 papers by Professor Gao, which accounts for a relatively small proportion of Professor Gao's achievements.
