Van Gogh was born into a family of a Protestant pastor in Zundert, the Netherlands. Before the age of 24, he worked as a clerk at Goupil galleries in The Hague, London, and Paris. Later, he became a missionary and served in the Borinage mining area in southwestern Belgium. Due to his sympathy and support for the demands of the poor miners, he was dismissed. After a period of extreme disappointment and poverty, he decided to achieve self-liberation through the pursuit of art. Throughout his life, Van Gogh left behind a wealth of works, which were gradually recognized by people only after his death. His works emphasize the expression of his own spirit, where everything in his paintings jumps and twists under the influence of his intense emotions. It can be said that Van Gogh's entire life was consumed by his painting and art. His representative works include "Sunflowers," "Starry Night," and "The Potato Eaters," among others.
