Features: When it comes to Goethe, people know him as a great poet, novelist, dramatist, and outstanding thinker; some may also know that he was a scientist with expertise in many fields; perhaps a few may know that he was a political activist, having served as a minister in the Duchy of Weimar. However, few people know that he was also an artist, more accurately, a landscape painter with considerable skill, and throughout his life, he created as many as 2,700 paintings. To showcase Goethe's artistic talent, we have specially compiled this book, Goethe's Paintings. This book includes 196 representative works by Goethe, each accompanied by a detailed description. On the left side of each painting, there is a of Goethe's quotes on art or related poems, presenting a left-discussion-right-painting format, allowing readers to appreciate Goethe's artworks while also gaining insight into his artistic philosophy. We hope this book will bring readers both visual enjoyment and spiritual pleasure.
