Features: This textbook is a visual and auditory learning material for beginners studying French, accompanied by audio and video tapes. The entire textbook consists of 26 lessons, which recreate various scenes of daily life in France through television, allowing you to immerse yourself in the experience and learn authentic French while gaining insights into French culture and lifestyle, thereby improving your communicative skills in French. "Modern French – France Welcomes You" is a series of beginner-level French television teaching programs produced by China Central Television based on the 1987 Sino-French agreement on television French teaching cooperation. It serves as a model for the audiovisual textbook "BIENVENUE EN FRANCE" issued in France in 1991, adapted and refined. "Modern French" adopts the most basic expressions used in modern daily life conversations. The entire program consists of 26 episodes, each independent yet forming a complete system, narrating the work and life of four young people during their internship at a hotel. The content is rich and the format is lively. Self-learners not only gain basic oral skills but also learn about French customs, traditions, cultural background, and everyday life. The vocabulary, sentence structures, and grammar in this textbook are designed based on the communicative context of the characters in the program, serving the purpose of mastering language application. During the learning process, especially in the early stages, do not rush to focus on grammar or become overly rigid about the grammatical aspects of every sentence. Avoid memorizing words and sentence structures in isolation; instead, understand the meaning of the original text by grasping the context and setting of the dialogue. Be bold in imitation and practice repeatedly to build a solid foundation in listening and speaking.
