Features: "A stone from a foreign mountain can polish jade." Modern Japanese architectural environmental art design has developed on the basis of modern material civilization by continuously borrowing lifestyles and design concepts from the West, while integrating its own national conditions and traditional cultural heritage. They never reject advanced foreign ideas and technologies, able to innovate through absorption. In architectural environmental art design, emphasis is not only placed on visual art but also on technological content, new materials, new techniques, and green, sustainable development. They are committed to combining high modernity with national characteristics, blending foreign and local styles with ingenuity, ensuring that every detail reflects design and environmental beauty. Below are some of the results of the author's research as a senior visiting scholar funded by the state during their study in Japan. Through selected hundreds of classic design examples, accompanied by personal insights and reflections, it provides a relatively comprehensive and systematic introduction to modern Japanese architectural environmental art design. It is hoped that this work will benefit design professionals engaged in urban construction, architectural environments, spatial art, and landscape design, as well as university teachers and students in these fields.
