The conference was held on November 15-16, 2003, at Tsinghua University's Mingli Tower in Beijing, China. There were 175 official participants, including 26 from overseas. The conference attendees came from ten countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Taiwan, Hong Kong. Among them were renowned domestic and international experts and scholars in intellectual property law, judges from domestic and international intellectual property courts, government officials in intellectual property management, famous domestic and international lawyers and patent agents in intellectual property affairs, and intellectual property management personnel from well-known domestic and international enterprises and universities. The conference received 46 academic papers, of which 35 were presented over the two days, including 12 papers from overseas participants.
