Features: The history of disasters and the history of calamities are closely related. Generally speaking, calamities often occur during the occurrence of major natural disasters. However, they also have fundamental differences and belong to different research fields. The former focuses on human society in the midst of disasters, falling under the field of social history in historical studies; the latter focuses on the natural world where disasters occur, belonging to the field of historical geography.
