Features: The new edition of "Weaving Technology" follows the principle of "strengthening fundamentals and broadening specialization," tailored to the characteristics of major platform courses. Building upon the essence of existing textbooks while adhering to the combination of inheritance and innovation, the new textbook features the following:
1. As a unified textbook, it is jointly compiled by personnel from various institutions under the organization of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Textile Engineering. It further breaks the previous system of categorizing textbooks based on different fiber materials for weaving processing, forming a "big weaving" textbook.
2. The textbook emphasizes the introduction of modern weaving technologies, new processes, and new equipment, omitting the detailed discussion of weaving processes and equipment that are gradually being phased out.
3. For the first time in undergraduate textile engineering textbooks, this one adopts a combination of text and multimedia, highlighting the advantage of closely linking classroom theoretical teaching with practical factory operations.
4. Each chapter now includes a "Key Points of This Chapter" at the beginning and a list of "Main Professional Terms" at the end, which helps students summarize the content, facilitates understanding and memorization, and provides English annotations for the main professional terms, thereby contributing to improving students' professional English proficiency.
This book is one of the platform course textbooks for undergraduate teaching in textile engineering, divided into two parts: Preparation and Weaving. The Preparation part introduces pre-weaving processes such as warping, sizing, dressing, and beaming. The Weaving part covers the formation process of fabrics on the loom, including shedding, weft insertion, beating-up, take-up, and let-off, as well as loom drive, automatic stop motions, and comprehensive discussions on woven fabric processing. A multimedia CD is included, providing a brief overview of the main equipment in weaving engineering to help readers deepen their understanding of the relevant knowledge.
This book can serve as a textbook for higher education in textiles and also be referenced by textile support personnel and engineering technicians.
