Unbreakable womanly charm

Features: This is a good contemporary novel that tells the romantic entanglements of a man and seven women. The male protagonist, Jin Cheng, is handsome, outstanding in appearance, and very popular with women. As he grows from a farmer to a teacher, and then to the Vice Chairman of the Municipal People's Congress, women like Chen Wen, Wu Wei, Sun Fengying, Ren Jingjing, Wang Qian, and others appear alongside him like shadows, together weaving several touching and intricate love stories. Behind the stories of joy and sorrow, separation and reunion between Jin Cheng and the women around him, the novel employs a panoramic description, set against the backdrop of China's social changes from the 1970s to the late 1990s. Jin Cheng's arduous and winding path of growth is constantly reflected in the imprint of the times—bloodshed, life-and-death struggles, success and joy, pain and failure... Seemingly accidental, it is actually inevitable.
