Features: Renoir was a French painter, initially closely associated with the Impressionist movement. His early works were typical Impressionist pieces that recorded real life, filled with dazzling brilliance. However, by the mid-1880s, he split from the Impressionist movement and turned to portraiture, especially female portraits, to develop his more rigorous and conventional painting techniques. Among all Impressionist painters, Renoir may have been the most popular one, as he painted beautiful children, flowers, lovely landscapes, and especially adorable women. These would immediately captivate people. Renoir directly expressed the pleasing sensations he received from them onto the canvas.
