Features: Law is a manifestation of social progress, a product of economic development, and a crystallization of spiritual civilization in human society. It is a symbol of fairness and justice in modern society. Without law, a nation cannot be well-governed, but laws alone are not enough to enforce themselves. The judiciary is a solemn form of law enforcement and a crucial part of "governing the country according to law." We hope that the book China's Judicial System can contribute a small effort to help the Chinese people gain a more comprehensive understanding of our judicial system. At the same time, we hope this book will promote legal exchanges between China and other countries in the world.
The book is divided into 19 sections and 63 chapters, totaling over 400,000 words. It briefly introduces the historical evolution of China's judicial system, including the Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, as well as the modern Chinese judicial system. The book focuses on China's current judicial system, including relief, mediation, arbitration, notarization, and other existing judicial practices and reforms. In the section on the current judicial system and reforms, it emphasizes the Chinese judicial trial system, including the Chinese court mediation system, the judge system, trial principles, and the handling of criminal, civil, and administrative cases. The book also briefly discusses China's judicial review system and the legal awareness of Chinese citizens, offering an outlook on judicial system reforms and legal development in China.
