Features: Xue Fubin was born in Beijing in August 1944 and is of Hui ethnicity. He is currently a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an associate professor and head of the calligraphy teaching and research office at Beijing Normal University of Education, and a calligrapher. Additionally, he serves as a council member of the China Calligraphers Association, the vice chairman of the Rights and Interests Protection Committee, a judging member of the China Calligraphers Association, and a judging member of the National Middle-aged and Young Calligraphy and Seal-carving Exhibition. He is also a professor at the China Calligraphy Training Center, a council member of the Beijing Federation of Literature and Arts, the vice chairman of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, and the vice chairman of the Beijing Trade Union Cultural Association.
For many years, he has been engaged in teaching, creation, and organizational work in calligraphy and seal-carving. He has conducted systematic and in-depth research on the theory and practice of calligraphy and seal-carving. Since the 1980s, his works have been selected for numerous important domestic and international exhibitions organized by the China Calligraphers Association and the Beijing Calligraphers Association. He has also participated in organizing various large-scale calligraphy events at the national and municipal levels. He has led or accompanied delegations on academic exchange visits to Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. He has taught the "Calligraphy Lecture" course on China Central Television (CCTV) and Beijing Television.
His published works include: An Overview of Chinese Calligraphy, Random Notes and Traces, A Guide to Wang Xizhi's Running Script, The Five Styles of the Orchid Pavilion (Running Script), 32 Famous Poems in Running Script, Selected Works of Xue Fubin in Calligraphy and Seal-carving, as well as various technical books and CDs such as An Introduction to Running Script and Techniques of Regular Script.
