Features: This book is based on the "Basic Requirements for Engineering Thermodynamics Courses in Higher Industrial Schools" issued by the Ministry of Construction, applicable to four-year undergraduate programs in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (60-70 class hours). It has been revised based on the third edition, with partial adjustments, updates, and enrichments to the content. According to teaching requirements, the book emphasizes the discussion of fundamental concepts and basic laws. For key and challenging content, in addition to theoretical analysis, summaries are provided. This edition retains review questions, exercises, and answers to facilitate self-study and assessment. The book covers 13 chapters, including: Basic Concepts, Properties of Ideal Gases, Thermodynamic Laws, Thermodynamic Processes of Ideal Gases and Gas Compression, The Second Law of Thermodynamics, Thermodynamic Differential Relations and Properties of Real Gases, Steam, Wet Air, Gases and Vapors, Power Cycles, Refrigeration Cycles, Fundamentals of Chemical Thermodynamics and Fundamentals of Solution Thermodynamics. The book uniformly adopts the International System of Units (SI). It can be used as a teaching text for students in Building Environment and Equipment Engineering (formerly Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Gas Engineering) and non-power engineering programs, as well as a reference for relevant engineering professionals.
