Features: Professor Zhong Huilan organized the writing of the book "Tropical Medicine" during his lifetime. It is the first large-scale comprehensive monograph on tropical medicine in China. Since its publication in 1986, it has been widely welcomed and praised by scholars and experts both domestically and internationally, especially in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Nearly 20 years have passed, and tropical medicine has made significant advancements in etiology, epidemiology, clinical medicine, diagnostics, and chemotherapy. Therefore, we have invited renowned experts from China to revise the first edition of this book and add new diseases and travel medicine, aiming to include the latest developments in tropical medicine both domestically and internationally as much as possible, to meet the needs of prevention and treatment under the reform and opening-up. To commemorate the great contributions of our beloved mentor, Academician Zhong Huilan, to the field of tropical medicine in China, the second edition of this book will maintain the style of the first edition, expressing our deep condolences for the late Professor Zhong Huilan and inheriting and promoting the academic thoughts of Academician Zhong Huilan.
