Features: Career development status is one of the important indicators of success, happiness, and joy in a person's life. It is also the fundamental way to acquire and utilize human capital. Compared to the general overview of career development for men or existing management studies, the career development of women has many unique aspects. This study reviews career development theories, explores the characteristics of women's career development, and attempts to use multidisciplinary theories and analytical methods to identify issues in the career development of Chinese women, analyze influencing factors, and propose solutions. It provides theoretical support and policy recommendations to maximize the acquisition and development of human capital for Chinese women. The study consists of eight chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the research problem, clarifies the purpose, significance, and methodology of the study; Chapter 2 reviews career development theories; Chapter 3 explores the characteristics of career development among Chinese women; Chapters 4, 5, and 6 analyze prominent issues in the career development of Chinese women—occupational gender segregation, role conflict and confusion, and current hot topics in women's career development—attempting to explain them from the perspectives of economics, sociology, and social psychology; Chapter 7 analyzes the influencing factors on the career development of Chinese women (as a group or as individuals); Chapter 8 proposes strategies to promote the career development of Chinese women at the institutional, social, organizational, and individual levels.
