Features: This book can serve as a general textbook for international economic and trade majors in colleges and universities across the country, as well as a foundational textbook and reference for vocational and technical schools, diploma exams, self-study exams, and training materials for international economic and trade professionals. The author has paid attention to extensively and systematically collecting and using the latest knowledge, data, and information relevant to this textbook. It closely connects with the practical aspects of international trade theory and practice, the actual reforms and opening-up of China, and the realities of China's foreign trade after joining the World Trade Organization, making the textbook rich in novelty. The Third Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China explicitly proposed adhering to a people-centered approach and establishing a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable development outlook. However, with the development of global economic integration and regional economic blocs, the increase in multinational corporations, and the strengthening of technical trade barriers after the establishment of the World Trade Organization, competition in the global market has become unprecedentedly fierce. To remain invincible in this competition, China urgently needs to cultivate a group of specialized talents who understand, master, and possess skills in international trade theory, policies, knowledge, and practices, are familiar with World Trade Organization rules, and understand the internationalization strategies of multinational corporations and the operational mechanisms of regional economic integration organizations. For this purpose, we have compiled this textbook. The book consists of sixteen chapters, covering three main aspects: first, international trade theory; second, foreign trade policies, measures, and the World Trade Organization; and third, the development of contemporary international trade and the foreign trade of various countries (groups) in the world.
