Author: Liu Meng
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-10-01
Features: To assist staff of these organizations in providing necessary psychological counseling and support for single mothers; and to facilitate self-growth for some single mothers, we have compiled this manual. The manual is divided into four parts:
1. Concepts of Women's Empowerment and Group Design;
2. Group Work Procedures;
3. Sharing Growth Experiences of Women Participating in the Group;
4. Precautions for Facilitating the Group and Reference Materials.
The target readers of the manual will include: social workers in communities, staff of the Women's Federation, staff of non-governmental organizations, researchers concerned with the status of divorced women, women who are currently undergoing divorce or have recently left marriage, as well as faculty and students of social work programs in colleges and universities.
As a social work practice manual in China, the editors have combined theories of group work from abroad, particularly women's group work, with local social work practices in China. We believe this manual is a product of the localization process of social work in China.
