Features: Rungren is a versatile individual. In addition to creating comics and illustrating children's books, he also writes children's literature. He is a poet, skilled in the rhythm of poetry, and has written many lyrical poems. Many of his artworks also clearly exhibit poetic rhythms. He is passionate about photography and often edits and combines some of his photographs into amusing montages (which he calls "miniatures interpreted through images"). He possesses the talent of a speaker, telling stories with great enthusiasm and is frequently a guest on radio and television programs. Rungren is also a physically fit, gentle, quick-witted, and sports-loving person. He possesses the physique of a tennis coach, the eloquence and demeanor of a diplomat, and his blue eyes are filled with humor and wisdom. As he himself said, he and Professor Filutke are like living twin brothers. This comic album appeared in the Polish weekly "Pulceroy" in 1948, and the work quickly achieved success and sparked strong reactions. Polish children awarded Rungren the "Medal of Laughter." Due to the wordless comic strip format of "Professor Filutke," the image of the main character, the elderly professor, quickly transcended national borders. In 1956, the German publisher ErlebnisSPIEGEL published Rungren's comic album "One Hundred Stories of Professor Filutke." Two years later, several more comic albums featuring Professor Filutke, such as "A Hundred Humorous Stories" and "New Edition of A Hundred Humorous Stories," were published. In 1974, Rungren published the humorous collection "A Guide to Life," which was also well-received by readers. That same year, his works were included in the famous love comic strip collection "Heaven's Joy and Hell's Suffering," which has been a bestseller for decades. Rungren's works have earned him high acclaim. In Warsaw and Moscow, he has received the "Bertisch-Herz Award" and the "Montreal Award," respectively, and has held personal exhibitions in five countries and regions. German critics believe that there are few cartoonists in the world who have achieved such accomplishments, and only the genius cartoonists Wilhelm Busch, B?rbel, and Schmidt in Germany can be compared to him.
