Features: The idea of making appropriate adjustments to "Old Photos" to expand its capacity and improve its appearance had long been considered. The delay in implementation was mainly due to the fact that for a considerable period of time, "Old Photos" had been plagued by an overwhelming number of imitations, forcing us to worry that any changes might be misinterpreted as imitative works. Such a mindset may sound trivial or even absurd, but it reflects the helplessness and sorrow of our publishing industry, a helplessness and sorrow that are increasingly being felt by more and more industry professionals and readers.
Photos can better preserve the truth of history, thanks to their irreplaceable and unalterable independent voice. Unfortunately, when narrating history, the independent voice of photos is often not given the respect it deserves. Even in books that heavily use photos, they are merely supplementary evidence for historical conclusions or illustrations of certain historical concepts. "Old Photos" attempts to change this by placing photos at the center of attention, allowing them to speak for themselves. Sometimes, the messages and implications contained in photos far exceed what simple historical conclusions can encompass, and history can only become vivid and dynamic when it acknowledges and listens to the voice of photos.
