Features: The informatization of social life and the globalization of the economy have made English increasingly prominent. As the times progress and China advances, English, as a vital medium of information, has become the most widely used language in various fields of human life. For a modern person, not knowing English is unimaginable. To keep pace with the times and meet the growing demands of English teaching and learning in China's primary and secondary schools, we have meticulously compiled this Advanced English-Chinese Dictionary. This dictionary has the following features:
1. Up-to-date content, keeping pace with the times. The most prominent feature of this dictionary is its novelty. Both its content and layout are new. During the compilation process, we referred to dozens of authoritative English reference books from home and abroad, maximizing the collection of the newest vocabulary that keeps up with the development of the times.
2. Extensive vocabulary. This dictionary is compiled based on the latest Junior High School English Teaching Syllabus and the Revised Edition of the College English Teaching Syllabus. On the original basis, we have appropriately added some vocabulary for the College English Test Band 4 and 6 (CET) and some TOEFL and GRE vocabulary, making it suitable for a broad range of intermediate to advanced English learners.
3. Rich content, covering a wide range. This dictionary includes vocabulary from fields such as politics, economics, culture, military, science and technology (computers), and sports. It also provides a large number of synonyms and antonym, helping users to deepen their understanding and achieve a comprehensive grasp. Additionally, the dictionary features several selected illustrations that correspond to the content, enabling users to enhance their understanding and memory of the related vocabulary through vivid and.
The dictionary collects over 25,000 English entries, including derived words, compound words, phrases, and idioms, bringing the total number of actual entries to over 50,000. The total number of words in the book is approximately 2.1 million.
In the appendix, the dictionary also includes seven additional sections: an irregular verbs table, a table of common English names, a table of common world geographical names, a table of mathematical expressions, a table of units of measurement, a table of British and American festivals, and a zodiac chart. These sections provide great help for English learning and mastering basic English knowledge.
