The works of Zhang Wuchen Series (First Collection) -- Beyond the Balcony: Beyond the Balcony

Author: Zhang Wuchen
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2001-08-01
Features: Looking down from the balcony with a touch of Wang Xizhi's sentiment, leaning on the sky with the spirit of Xin Qiji, yet writing one's own views, memories, or feelings; in this era, the world is like a chess game, holding a pen to record it, there is indeed no need to leave the glory to the ancients. Many of Professor Wuchen's essays appear to be casual notes, lightly brushed, yet they actually contain deep meaning, hitting the mark directly. Reading his prose allows one to appreciate the subtle charm hidden in the gaps between the words. Those philosophies hidden behind the main text can only be understood after rereading or pondering upon them after closing the book. To reach such a level of reading, as Professor Wuchen himself would say, is truly "extremely satisfying."
