Features: Case-based teaching is a new teaching method introduced from abroad in recent years. However, there is a relatively unclear understanding of what constitutes a case, how to write a case, and how to use a case—not only among frontline teachers but even among some experts, there are certain biases in their understanding. Professor Chen Wei, an expert from the Fine Arts Curriculum Standards Group, recognized the importance of this issue from his rich experience in new curriculum training. Through extensive exchanges with frontline teachers, he discovered excellent cases. Under his guidance, four outstanding teachers with unique teaching characteristics compiled their distinctive cases from teaching practice, which were then published as separate books. The case written by Liu Qing'e, a teacher from Changsha Lushan International Experimental School, is titled "Happy Heart"; the case written by Zhao Zifeng from Taiyuan No. 19 Middle School is titled "Dragon Soaring in the Snow"; and the cases written by Zhu Guohua from Zhejiang and Wei Ruijiang from Tianjin will also be published in the first half of 2004. These cases are vivid in content, beautifully written, and possess originality, authenticity, and practicality. Accompanied by vivid and relevant images, they are highly readable. The publication of this series not only holds significant importance for promoting new curriculum fine arts teaching but also provides valuable reference for frontline teachers engaged in teaching research.
