Features: Based on the characteristics of the book "Introduction to Masterpieces of Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature" and the teaching practice of the textbook, I have designed this "Self-Study Guide" with works as the basic unit, providing students with learning assistance from four aspects around each work: , targetedly introducing the authors. Through teaching, we have found that many students have not previously studied a complete literary history or have not studied it for a long time. While they may be familiar with the masters and scholars in the history of modern and contemporary literature, they are not familiar with them or have become hazy about them. Especially for authors who have not been given dedicated chapters or sections in literary history, even their basic creative background may be unknown. In such cases, it is very difficult to understand their works. Second, providing a macroscopic overall introduction to the works. In the textbook, some works are complete, while others are excerpts; some have been analyzed in literary history courses, while others have not even appeared in the titles of literary history courses; and for these works, their creative process, cultural context at the time of creation, stylistic characteristics, as well as their position and significance in the author's overall creative works, are all fundamental knowledge that students should understand and grasp. Third, providing heuristic guidance for the "Reading Tips" in the textbook. Fourth, selecting excerpts from the "Reference Works (Titles)" in the textbook.
