Features: "Synchronous Exercises for the New Century English Course" is a supplementary workbook designed to accompany the "New Century English Course." It helps students more comprehensively, systematically, and thoroughly consolidate the language points and knowledge system of the textbook, enabling them to master the skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation, and comprehensively improve their English proficiency. At the same time, the question types in each unit are in the format of the National College English Application Ability Test (B Level), and after students complete the exercises, through the accumulation of quantity, they can achieve a qualitative leap, which is helpful for passing the B Level of the College English Application Ability Test. This textbook is written by the College English Textbook Writing Group and is intended for students of higher vocational and technical colleges and higher general secondary colleges who are admitted from high school graduates, vocational and technical school graduates, and vocational high school graduates, as well as self-taught English learners. This textbook is compiled in accordance with the "Basic Requirements for English Course Teaching in Higher Vocational and Technical Education" issued by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education. The starting point is equivalent to the current high school English graduation level, and it is required that students master the basic English pronunciation and grammar knowledge stipulated in the "Basic Requirements" before studying this textbook, recognize more than 1,000 English words, and have received preliminary training in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation. This textbook adheres to the principle of prioritizing listening and speaking, focusing on cultivating students' ability to use English for communication, while also cultivating their strong reading ability and paying attention to the development of writing, translation, and other skills. This enables students to use English as a tool to capture and obtain the information they need, laying a solid foundation for learning various professional English courses. This textbook is divided into four volumes, with most of the language materials selected from original materials, and it has strong ideological, scientific, knowledge, interest, and practicality. Volumes 1 and 2 mainly focus on Core English (Common Core English), while Volumes 3 and 4 appropriately increase the proportion of science and technology and humanities content. After completing Volume 3, students can meet the B Level requirements stipulated by the "Basic Requirements for English Course Teaching in Higher Vocational and Technical Education," and after completing Volume 4, they can meet the A Level requirements stipulated by the "Basic Requirements." The layout of Volumes 1 and 2 is as follows: Each volume has 8 units, with each unit containing 80-100 words and 15-25 phrases. Each unit consists of three parts: Text Comprehension (divided into A and B), Grammar Focus and Exercises, and Practice and Improvement. The text provides the central material for listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation exercises for grammar focus and practice and improvement, which are closely related to the text material. Each unit has 5 materials with related meanings and the same grammatical content. The first two are the texts, and the last three are fast reading and cloze tests, with content similar to the texts but slightly easier in difficulty, aimed at cultivating students' ability to quickly obtain information. The grammar exercises in each unit focus on solving one difficult point, while practice and improvement emphasize the cultivation of various skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation. The exercises are diverse and numerous, and teachers can make choices based on the actual teaching situation.
