Features: The rise and fall of great powers have always been a major issue in international society. As China's reform and opening-up process deepens, the rise of China as a major power has increasingly drawn attention from the international community. Peace and development are the basic principles of China's reform and opening-up. However, when China's comprehensive strength reaches a certain level, it inevitably leads to changes in the existing international order. As a result, so-called theories such as the "China Threat Theory" and the "China Collapse Theory" have emerged internationally. What development path should China adopt? How should it respond to international challenges? The "Peaceful Rise Theory" seems to be a wise choice. Of course, politics follows its own logic, and scholars have their own perspectives. The theme of the "Great Power" period revolves around "The Rise and Fall of Great Powers and Our Choices." In the main columns such as "Papers," "Roundtable Discussions," and "Commentaries," it focuses on discussing the "Peaceful Rise Theory" and related issues such as national security interests, international order, constitutional democracy systems, economic development strategies, cultural identity, nationalism, and more. We have long regarded ourselves as a "great and mighty nation," but that was a mindset under the imperial system, far removed from the mature civic consciousness of modern nation-states. We hope that our "Great Power" will grow alongside our motherland, contributing its modest efforts to cultivating a modern civic consciousness among the public.
