Brief History of Han Fu: New Evidence

Author: Zhu Xiaohai
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-06-01
Features: This collection includes eleven book reports. Six of them were originally published under the title "Xifu Zui Lun Ji" in March 1999 in Taipei by Taiwan Student Book Company. For this publication, several word explanations and minor revisions were added to Section 6, while the rest remained largely unchanged, with only some obvious errors corrected and the format of the explanations standardized. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Cheng Xuancong for his recommendation, which made it possible for this collection to be published on the mainland. Due to the time constraints of the works included in this collection, which span from pre-Qin to the Jin and Song dynasties, the focus remains on Han fu, as the title reflects the actual content. Therefore, following the advice of scholars, the title is set as Han fu.
The reason for calling it "Brief History" needs explanation. The compilation aims to be comprehensive, and many materials that are commonly known must be included. However, Zhang Xuecheng once said: "True scholarship is not merely compilation; it requires originality. At the very least, in selecting materials, one must prioritize certain aspects over others, elaborating on what others overlook and omit what others emphasize."
