Features: The ancient yet young instrument, the yangqin, is widely favored and loved by people, with an increasing number of learners and a thriving momentum. To popularize, inherit, and develop the yangqin cause, as a yangqin teacher, I feel both pleased and inspired, yet also deeply aware of my great responsibility. Based on my 38 years of practical experience in learning, performing, composing, and teaching the yangqin, I have provided a concise explanation of its playing methods and techniques, while also composing some etudes and solo pieces that interest children and are suitable for them to learn and play. Most of the etudes are adapted from children's songs, allowing kids to complete their studies in an enjoyable way. At the same time, I attempt to provide strict and standardized training from a young age, focusing on building a solid foundation and progressing gradually from easy to advanced levels. The book is divided into five chapters and three stages. The first stage primarily consists of various basic etudes, the second stage includes various technique-focused etudes, and the third stage combines some more challenging etudes. This book is suitable for beginners and yangqin enthusiasts with a certain level of playing skills, as well as for reference in professional yangqin teaching.
