For a language with a relatively small number of learners, this should be more than enough. Yet, we remained persistent and eventually completed this task—the reason is simple: to do our best to provide some assistance to French learners. During our teaching process, regardless of the textbook used—even during the phonetics stage—we must refer to various materials and supplement many new linguistic resources during lesson preparation. Given this, why not compile our efforts from lesson preparation and share them with our eager students? Currently, more French learners are university students studying French as a second foreign language, students preparing to study abroad, or working professionals. They use their spare time to learn French and need more support from teachers. However, second-language and part-time learning classrooms often fail to meet the needs of these students in these aspects. Let’s write a book about French phonetics for them! It can serve as a supplement and summary for their classroom learning, as well as provide convenience for their self-study!
