Features: Full authentic test papers from previous years are the shortcut to passing the CET-4 exam, enabling candidates to maximize their understanding of the exam's key points, grasp the patterns of question setting, and discern the overall trend of the CET-4. However, simply doing the test papers once and then discarding them is akin to buying the box without the treasure. Only by meticulously studying the papers can one uncover their true value. This is because every word and sentence in the test papers has been carefully selected by top English education experts, reflecting the characteristics of modern English and meeting the requirements of English teaching and the exam syllabus in China. In light of this, we have proposed the "Learn from Test Papers" concept, guiding students to study the papers in the same way they would study textbooks, learning the English language itself through the papers, and incidentally mastering exam-taking skills to pass the test with ease. This book includes 10 sets of full authentic CET-4 test papers from January 2000 to January 2004. In addition to providing authoritative answers and detailed explanations, it also features the following distinct characteristics:
Language Notes and Extension Examples
After each passage in the test papers, we have cleverly included "Language Notes" and "Extension Examples." From the perspective of learning language points and exam topics, these sections analyze the test papers, providing numerous additional examples for important vocabulary, phrases, or sentence structures. Through skillful extensions of these examples, candidates can better grasp the essence of exam topics and the usage, variations, and rules of words and sentences. This approach truly allows candidates to learn from the past and gain new insights. As a result, even when the questions in future exams appear different on the surface, candidates can remain adaptable and solve the problems smoothly.
Expert Comments on Patterns
At the end of each set of test paper explanations, we have included comments by an expert (whose name cannot be disclosed) on that set of papers. Though brief, these comments provide a high-level analysis of the difficulty level of each test paper, the key points and traps in each section, and other insights.
Listening Comprehension: Focus on Meaning
The CET-4 exam does not place high demands on listening comprehension, with questions focusing more on understanding the meaning rather than recognizing specific words or sentences. As long as candidates can capture the main message conveyed by the speaker, they can answer the questions correctly.
