The residential housing in small towns (including rural areas) is one of the most pressing issues for the general public in China. The editors have analyzed and selected 180 representative courtyard residential designs from small towns in various regions over the past few years, compiling them into three volumes titled "Trendy Courtyard Residences in Small Towns" (Volume 1, Volume 2, and Volume 3). These designs include standalone, parallel, row-style, and courtyard-style housing plans that can be organized into courtyards. Many of the plans focus on incorporating traditional residential layouts, such as front courtyards, rear courtyards, and inner courtyards, to ensure that each functional space in the residence receives ample natural lighting and ventilation. This improves the quality of the living environment, making the floor plans more rational and livelier. The architectural designs are also more diverse, vibrant, and varied. Some of these designs have already been built and have been well-received by the public.
