Features: Meng Qingyu was born in 1937 and graduated in 1962. Since 1981, he has been a pioneer in the torpedo field, engaging in scientific research and teaching on engineering theories such as torpedo reliability, maintainability, sampling acceptance, fault method acceptance, and combat effectiveness evaluation. He has published over 30 papers, receiving 8 excellent paper awards; compiled 8 teaching materials including "Physical Fields of Non-Triggering Fuse Control in Torpedoes" and "Fundamentals of Torpedo Reliability Engineering," totaling 2.8 million words, and winning 1 Excellent Teaching Material Award from the China National Industry Corporation. He has been invited multiple times to lecture at the Torpedo Research Institute, factories, test ranges, and the Navy's Argumentation Center, promoting research in the aforementioned engineering fields of the torpedo industry. He has been awarded 1 third-class merit, 3 commendations, and 2 excellent teaching awards from the school.
Zhang Jingyuan was born in 1964. He graduated from the Naval Aviation Engineering College in 1986 and obtained his master's degree from the Naval Engineering University in 1992, becoming a master's supervisor in 1997. He is a member of the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, a member of the Torpedo Self-Steering and Fuse Academic Committee of the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, a council member of the Hubei Acoustics Society, and a committee member of the Youth Work Committee of the Yuanbei Specialized Society.
Main research fields: Torpedo guidance systems, time-frequency and time-stretch analysis and applications, wideband signal processing, sonar imaging and image processing; Torpedo combat use and weapon system analysis.
He has published over 40 papers and compiled 3 teaching materials, including "Probability of Armament Equipment" (missile section) and "Torpedo Combat Use and Combat Effectiveness Evaluation," totaling over 600,000 words. He has led and participated in multiple scientific research projects, winning 1 second prize and 2 third prizes for military scientific and technological progress.
This book comprehensively introduces system effectiveness analysis and evaluation methods. Combining the tactical and technical performance and combat use characteristics of torpedo weapons, it establishes basic evaluation models for torpedo combat effectiveness and systematically discusses the combat effectiveness of torpedoes.
