The fundamental knowledge includes: basic knowledge of professional ethics, basic knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, basic knowledge of common veterinary drugs, basic knowledge of animal pathology, basic knowledge of veterinary microbiology, basic knowledge of animal immunology, basic knowledge of animal infectious disease prevention and control, basic knowledge of animal parasitic disease prevention and control, basic knowledge of animal feeding management and hygiene, basic knowledge of veterinary biological products, and relevant laws and regulations. The operational skills that must be mastered include: livestock (poultry) housing hygiene and disinfection, vaccination, collection and transport of pathological materials, use of veterinary drugs and medical devices, clinical observation and medication, animal castration, and handling of sick animals. For advanced animal disease prevention and control personnel, additional skills and knowledge related to training and guidance are also introduced.
