Features: Escaping from the pursuit of the Japanese, a group of refugees diverged in their choices for the future. Those who sought the Eighth Route Army encountered the Kuomintang, and those who joined the Kuomintang ran into the Eighth Route Army. By chance, what seemed accidental became the inevitable destiny. From then on, they met their future comrades-in-arms and enemies, stepped into war and politics, and thus began a magnificent epic of war, a shocking love story, and a mysterious human drama—yesterday they were inseparable, tomorrow they turned against each other; on the battlefield they fought side by side, behind the scenes they set traps; brothers-in-arms betrayed each other for profit, while sworn enemies showed solidarity in adversity. In this whirlpool of turbulent relationships, petty men fell, and heroes emerged.
