Features: To meet the needs of, we have compiled this "Selected Works of Mao Dun." In terms of selection, we strive to include representative works of different genres and styles written by the author during various periods, enabling readers to gain a basic understanding of the ideological content and artistic characteristics of Mao Dun's works. The selected works are based on the "Complete Works of Mao Dun" published by our press. The annotations are kept concise and brief. The famous long novels "Eros" and "The Midnight Sun" are published as separate volumes by our press and are continuously reprinted, but they are not included in this selected works collection to save space. This book is divided into three volumes: Volume I contains long and medium-length novels, including the long novel "The Rainbow" and the medium-length novels "The Road" and "Complex Relationships"; Volume II contains short stories, totaling 25 pieces; Volume III contains essays, including 62 sketches and 6 literary essays. The works are arranged according to their categories in chronological order of writing.
